Cora visibly hesitates at the sight of the grates, and more than anything she wishes that she had a flashlight. And for a moment she's eerily reminded of another time she'd gone running through the dark. She knows it isn't smart to go stumbling around like that, but she fights through her own panic and steps over to help tug at the grate without a second thought. Part of her is still very much willing to turn around and try to hurt the monstrous bear, but if she's needed here then she has to help.
Maybe it's luck or some kind of miracle, but with enough pulling... the grate comes loose and provides just enough space to get through. "This is reckless, and stupid. ...But we just might be able to hide from it." And whatever is no doubt chasing after her, too -- but she doesn't voice that out loud. "Here, I'll go first just in case. I promise that I won't let go."
